A folio-style case that brings a tactile keyboard to the smartphone form-factor. As part of tech21’s ‘Made for Google’ partnership, I led the concept and development of EVO Type — transforming a passive protective case into an active productivity accessory.
After identifying that mobile users often struggle with long-form typing, I defined the design challenge: how to integrate a full-sized keyboard into a slim protective case without compromising usability or manufacturing cost. The result: a hidden fold-out keyboard that deploys via NFC pairing, housed within the folio lid, while the case maintains low profile and meets protective standards.

My work encompassed mechanical system design, material selection for a sleek feel, and interface integration to ensure seamless user experience. I co-ordinated prototyping through to core engineering hand-over, aligning brand, hardware and manufacturing constraints.
