Launched in parallel with the Apple iPhone 7 back in 2017, the Pure Clear product was the culmination of 2 years development and testing.
The primary challenge was producing a product that was completely transparent, but that was scratch resistant to ensure the product had everyday durability.
As with everything we developed at tech21, the focus was impact protection. To produce a product that was clear, we utilised a BASF polymer that was developed for bulletproof glass lamination, therefore had the impact absorption properties we needed as well as being completely transparent.
Once launched, the Pure Clear product range quickly became the brands best-selling product, sold globally including through Apple’s own retail channel.
